Should I worry?

Thunder Robot Asked by funadvice 3 months ago, 4 answers.

Here is the story. I used to work for XYZ Company and no longer work there. Any way yesterday my mother received a call from Rhonda. Rhonda said she is from XYZ Company and wants to know if anyone in the household is looking for a job. My mother took all the information and told me about it.

I then called Rhonda back. Rhonda said that all they are hiring is for a position that I was not qualified to do. But we made arrangements at my pestering to meet this Monday.

Then today when I came home Rhonda called to confirm. However, tonight at 8PM I got a phone call by someone who sounded like Rhonda asking me about my phone bill. I hung up. Dialed *69 and said number not published. Called the phone number Rhonda gave me on Friday and it was another company not XYZ

So I decided to call the XYZ Human Resources Hotline and told them what happened and gave them the address and phone number that Rhonda gave me. HR told me they do not have an office at that location. But they are going to investigate. I am definitely NOT going on the interview. The HR Hotline told me I should not worry about it, but if in a week or so if I get another call like that from Rhonda I should go to the police and file a report

It shoulds strange but I don't see why you should worry at this point. It seems like the hoax is up and they should not be bothering you anymore. And if an incident like this happens again you should report it to police or anyone affiliated with that company name--like you did in this case.

Also never believe or trust anyone calling YOU for a job unless you put a resume or ad out with your telephone number on it. And if you have done this also do a background check on the company before going on the interview!

Good luck!

Well that could have been an easy mistake, so forgive her for the wrong address, but it might not have been a mistake so if you get a call that tells you to go there again then don't go there!

THIS QUESTION IS NO LONGER RELEVANT. I did not go to the interview and I haven't heard from them since they called to confirm this past Saturday
