Should I tell my boyfriend about my past?

I cheated on my ex-boyfriend and did several other things I am not proud of. I have also lied to my boyfriend about some details on questions he has asked me to protect our relationship. I love him and would never do anything to hurt him, though. He love me but has a hard time trusting me because of some of the lies I have told about my PAST. Should I tell him about my cheating past and correct the lies I have made, even though we could break up?

I am a man, I would not be upset by your past, but some males are different. I do not think that you are (anybody is) liable to tell all the details of your past. The past is past, and not the present, and your past IS your past. So you may say that you did several things in your past, but now you do not do that, and this is enough. Or, you may say nothing about your past. If he interrogates you about your past, you may answer that everybody has past, it is not possible to be without any past. In general, I do not account talking too much about the past as healthy. Everybody should live in the present and talk about the future. Usually the past excites the inactive type persons, who never did anything exciting.

You did a bad thing starting out a relationship with lies! You should have just come clean right from the beginning. Go for it>Better late then never I always say. It wasnt so much that you lied to him, but knowing he wasnt worth the truth!!

NO!! You should not feel obligated to tell about your past. Thats history, water over the dam.
If he really cares about you he shouldn't even ask. Doesn't matter if you had 20 men before him, it's still all in the past and you and him are in the here and now. It's a new beginning! Don't be hashing over the past. Yesterday is gone and you can't bring it back.

ello, I think you should tell him, yes he will be upset.. but it's for the better for you. Because the more you hold something in.. the worst it comes out to be. my ex boyfriend cheated on my.. he never told me about his past.. but I found out about it. I really think you should tell him... cause if he happines to find out about it.. he will be even more pi**ed if you didnt tell him your self...

yeah I feel that you should tell him its better to tell him now then for him to find out later. and it will be worse if he finds out later trust me on that one. you should always be honest from the beginning till the end I have lied to my boyfriend and all it did was blow up in my face he always finds out one way or another trust me be honest now.

Yes, you should come clean. It's immature and selfish to lie about your sexual history to him. Keep in mind that STDs can be transmitted even when condoms are used. So it's really not fair to put your partner at risk like that without his knowledge.

You don't have to tell anyone anything that you don't want too. That doesn't give you permission to lie, just tell him that honestly, it's not really any of his business. Just remember that if he is someone you want to be serious with you should be able to feel comfortable telling him anything, even if it's something you aren't particularly proud of.
