Should i sue my boss?

Shark Atack Asked by funadvice 3 months ago, 8 answers.

A couple of days ago 8 of my co-workers (including my boss) and I went to a karaoke bar. One of my co-workers knew the owner of that place so he got us all the good stuff. From free food, to the biggest room, and biggest of all, the alcohol. Now after...

being in there for about 2 hours and drinking quite a bit (I am only 16 keep in mind) I was pretty drunk. We left the place and waited outside to come up for plans for rides. While speaking to a friend my boss pushes me into a trimmed-sharp bush (he was not drunk as he had to drive). The branches pierced my back, sliced my legs, head, arms, and worst of all punctured a deep hole going directly into my hand (I had to pull this stick about an inch out of my hand). I was in serious pain regardless of drinking. He stood there and laughed his head off while my fellow workers rushed for me. He never even said sorry, he just asked if I was okay. A$$hole.

I need to ask you guys if I should try and sue him or not for assault against a minor. I had about many witnesses to prove it and pictures of my cuts/scars. Will me being under the influence change anything? And should I in fact sue my boss?

Thanks guys!

Well you are a minor and you would have to explain to your boss why you were drinking and you might get in trouble for under age drinking but other then that yes you should sue him. That friggin jack @ss. You should have used your good hand, grabbed his testicles squeezed as hard as you could as he falls to the ground in pain!! HAHAHAHA that would have been good.

Well, you *can* sue him, but you need to ask yourself a few questions here...

1. Do you plan on keeping your job?
2. The owner of the establishment that served you alcohol can be criminally charged for serving alcohol to minors...do you want to make that happen?
3. You will be admitting to having been drunk under age and could therefore face your own charges...do you want to be charged?
4. If you plan on leaving this job, do you have other job references, or is this the only one?
5. Do you think the rest of your coworkers will risk their jobs to help you?

Sometimes you need to think beyond the dollar signs...yes, you'll probably win if you sue, but will the end result be worth everything else?

really the only reason to sue him is for taking you out and giving you free alcohol
because at your age its illegal to drink
as for pushing you
it depends if he meant it or not
and it might have been an accident
I think the only thing worth suing over is the underage drinking
and only the pushing thing is it required you to go to hospital or has left a noticable scar

to ichibanarky...

Thanks for the awesome reply!

1. Do you plan on keeping your job? No, I was going to quit soon anyways

2. The owner of the establishment that served you alcohol can be criminally charged for serving alcohol to minors...do you want to make that happen? They put the alcohol on the table in the room we were in. I took them happily with my boss witnessing. He did not care.

3. You will be admitting to having been drunk under age and could therefore face your own charges...do you want to be charged? Ill probably get slapped on the wrist, he assaulted me.

4. If you plan on leaving this job, do you have other job references, or is this the only one? Im 16...

5. Do you think the rest of your coworkers will risk their jobs to help you? Some will, they were going to quit soon anyways..

girl you going to be causing a lot more trouble then this may be worth. firstly you are a minor so shouldnt have been drinking whether your boss cared or not, you have to account for your OWN actions but yes your boss did asault you although the place you went to will also stand the chance of being shut down for serving alcohol to a minor and people in your work place say they will stand up for you but when it comes to the trial they will probably chicken out so are you willing to fight this on your own and put others at risk for your irresponsibilty???

Look man all those witnesses are legaly responsible for contributing to the delinquency of a minor so no you dont need to sue any half decent attourney would blow holes through your story and you would just end up hurtin the people trying to help you so heres my advice burn his house down
