Should i stop bleaching my hair?

Daisies are Amazing Asked by fade_out about 1 year ago, 17 answers.

K, * Deeep Breath* This WHOLE year, I've been bleaching my hair Non-stop!
Never had I left a month for it to heal. It's EVERY month I bleach it. Then bleach it some more the next month to lighten it to my Desired Colour.
I can't seem to stop. I...

desperately have wanted my hair to be a beautiful blonde like Carrie Underwood or Hillary Duff's! My hair is naturally Dark Brown to Black. So its pretty dark. I got bored of the colour and wanted to go for something more dramatic and satisfying.
BIG MISTAKE! All I wanted was a beautiful blonde that looked nicely natural. After maybe 7-8 bleach loreal boxes and 1 professional dye through out this 2007 year, My hair is STILL Orange and Yellow!! _ Ooohhh, how irratating it is of how far I've come and my hair is still not my desired Color!!
I am currently saddened and Horribly confused. I don't know whether to give in and go dye my yellowish hair back to my natural color OR to Continue until my hair stops being stubborn and falls out.
What do you think?

What would be best?

Also Do you think it sounds weird if I were to go ahead and grow out my natural hair colour and if I feel like being blonde, I can slap on a natural-looking wig on, then switch whenever I feel like wearing the other?

Please be honest! or Tell me to STOP IT (bleaching my hair over and over)

Give me all you've got!

THanks so much!

Take out your frustration on ME if someones got you moody. I'd LOve to hear what you have to say!! I'm Serious!

Okay, so you do need to STOP BLEACHING YOUR HAIR if it is as bad as you say! Don't do your hair yourself anymore either, that is probably where you went wrong in the first place. If you wanted to do something so dramatic you should have gone to a salon and lightened it gradually. So go to a salon while you still have hair and explain how you have overprocessed your hair and ask them to help you make it healthy again. They will probably suggest a no-ammonia natural color that is close to your real haircolor, then keep going to them and eventually you will end up with the color that you want or something close within the next few months. Also, I don't think that the wig thing is a good idea, it is kinda weird actually, no offense! Good luck!

Stop bleaching your hair! It sounds like you already know the harmful effects it has. I don't know why you don't stop it, since you know all this. Don't dye your hair back its original colour, wait for it to grow out. As heathershaw05 said, go to a salon and explain you have overprocessed your hair. I don't know why you tried to lighten your hair in the first place, I love the original colour, in guys and girls. It's beautiful. Oh well. Each to his/her own I suppose. Anyway, If you are sure you want your hair that colour, go to a salon and ask THEM to do it, don't do it yourself, because it is actually dangerous. You deserve better. If I were you, I would just let it grow out to its natural colour. But I'm not you, I don't make your decisions. I hope this advice helped,
Britz.

Come on, fade out... I think we both know the answer. If its not working then thats your body's way of saying you need to keep it natural. And yeah, britz is right, if you go to a salon that will be both safer and you will probably get a guarantee or something. or at least they can look at your hair and tell you what is possible. keeping your hair natural, and healthier I might add, is fine and if you want to wear the blonde wig once in a while, thats fine, too. That's what Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman did anyway, and it worked good for her. So I say, you go girl!

Yeahh, stop bleaching it. Even if it takes a very long time to grow out, it will be worth it in the end. I haven't died my hair as many times as you, but I did it quite a few times and it's near impossible to get it back to it's natural color. Plus it's frustrating to wait, but your hair will feel and look better. It's totallyy worth the wait. =]

Well so that your hair looks half decent go to a salon and have it dyed a very light Brown and of course stop bleaching it ,if you must do it at home use a clairol herbal essences colour they're much less damaging than your regular hair colour. After this you should avoid heat styling and chemical processes to your hair for 4-6Months.During this time you should you use a mosturising shampoo and conditioner and a deep conditioner or hot oil.If you must use heat styling try andrew collinge perfect endings heat deefence spray. After you hair is dry and styled use a leave-in conditioning spray. After 4-6 months are over you could go to a salon and ak for Full-head hi-lights and that is the best way for you to have blonde hair.Atleast with hi-lites it doesn't look so bad when your roots come through. You should avoid bleach at all cost because it has avery negative afeect on you hair. Hope this helps

Have you tried toning your hair? You can go to Sally's or another beauty supply store and just buy a blue/violet toner with 20v developer...leave it on for about 10 mins and it will look fine. ANYONE can be blonde...it just takes some doing. No one looks good with hair just bleached - salons tone hair to the appropriate color. Try wella ivory lady with 20v creme developer - go the Sally Beauty Supply - and leave it on for 10 minutes. Do not shampoo for 3 days but condition it a lot. Then, shampoo...condition and try to not wash or heat expose your hair more than twice a week after that. GOOD LUCK!

if your skin color isnt white or caucation don't even consider it otherwise unless you are white with a natural -fake,go to a salon or dye it sseveral times until it is very blonde, use a name brand shampoo that is good for color treated hair , the best ones are, neutogena triple moisture, loreal vive, garnie fructis, pantene. and don't rinse your hair in hot water but medium warm water and right before you get out quickly rinse your hair in cold water it tames it and cools it preventing it from being frizzy and dry!!

If you continue to bleach your hair to the extent that it begins to fall out, you may have the worry of it not growing back properly! It could grow back patchy because the bleach would have burned the scalp and rotted the roots.

SO STOP BLEACHING!

Next time you fancy dying your hair, save up some money if you can and go to a hair-salon for 'Colour Correction'. They'll help you achieve the desired blonde colour.

But also, condition your hair with Blonde Sunsilk Conditioner every day, maybe even twice a day. Because I imagine your hair is very dry and brittle with all that bleach on it.

You are not using the right product. I use prism lights blue with 40 creme developer and clairol creme toner #303violet based toner. My hair is almost platinum. I get compliments every where I go. The boxed stuff does not work. If you have a sally beauty supply near you, I suggest these products. Before I bleached my hair I did a lot of research. Your hair is in the orange stage you need it at the pale yellow stage. You haven't bleached it enough. Don't give up. You can have the color you want. just get the right products. find a sally's either near you or go on line and order. This stuff really works. my hair is to my waist and it is naturally dark brown. I am now blonde.
