hang out a lot. I talk to him on the phone all the time sometimes alone and sometimes 3-way with my friend. Also when we are hanging out or on the phone he talks about girls he likes and girls that he thinks are hot. He doesn't seem to see me as more than a friends though, and I know that it's not going to go anywhere because he doesn't want to ruin my friend's and I's friendship, but I still hope that it will go somewhere. Is it worth it to like him?

Not if it's going to run your friendship. Since he isn't giving you any signs then maybe you should look for someone else.
