Should i go with her?

Ok so a little while ago I met a girl with my friend. Apparently she is an old friend of him. We rode to her a mall, and he said lets go to Pak and Save which is where she works. We met her, I saw her, me not really saying anything (these 2 are catching...

up as old friends what am I meant to say?). Not much later, my mate breaks down and loses his girlfriend. Apparently he bought this Pak and Save girl (Lets call her sarah) a necklace. Sarah was greatful but never got back to (Nick, my mate) him. Soon she texts me (I have NO IDEA AT ALL how she got my number) saying Nick is acting weird and she is worries. She tells me Nick asked for her to write a letter by a deadline. She writes it by the deadline but posts it after. During this time we msn each other and we get along very well. (which for me is unusual for a girl lol!) Now the problem was, I got a bit drunk and so did she while msn'ing each other and I remember me asking something along the lines of would you go out with a guy like me (not exctly sure what I said) she said if she was asked in person yea she would. Also, I did not have MSN logs enabled so I cant go back and see exactly what words were said.

She is a GREAT person. However, we have pretty much hidden from Nick that we text and msn each other a lot. Also she is somewhat chubby. Also, all my friends are against fat chicks. Shes maybe on the bigger side of chubby but not like real fat. Most my mate are virgins anyway so phhht.

So what I want to know, considering I dont want to hurt Nick (who IS one of my best mates ever) and dont want to embarrass myself with my other mates (regarding the big person thing) we do seem to like each other a lot. Do you think we should give it a shot or do you think there is too much risk involved. Like too much at stake? I really dont want to lose these friends I have. Most of them are excellent people.

EDIT: Oh and when I saw her with Nick, he said about going out with girls, and that she was too fat, I just said yeah even though she was quite pretty. Didnt say it in front of her, just as we left.
She also lives about 25km from me, but I live out in the country a bit so yea... even so, 25k is still fair bit

I doubt your friends will even care that much tbh. The odd joke now and again at most. Anyways don't let the fear of other peoples opinions scare you out of being with someone you really like.
I don't get why nick would have a problem with it :S
I think you should spend some more time with her in person and see whether or not you's have a connection in the real world

does nick have a thing for her or not? because if not, it shouldn't really be a problem if you dated her right? how do you think he would react if you did?

and are you embarrassed by the fact that she is pretty chubby..? do you like her enough for you to not hide her from your mates? (im not sure if that made sense but I hope you got my point)

oh btw, maybe you should hang out with her, because people can be different from what they are on msn + texting...
