Should i go back to my ex girlfriend or pursue the new girl?

Two things happened from my weekend:

Well, This weekend I got drunk and accidentally drunk texted my then girlfriend on saturday night. I had told her that I was done dating her and with her drama (mainly her family). She overreacted, told her family,...

and they seem happy about it. I love her to death but the whole thing with her family hating me is hurting me inside. I could never hate someone in my life, but I'm tired of her family, but I love her.
She's 18 and a senior in high school

So now I'm single, but there's a girl I met that same day, and Sunday afternoon:

I went to a chill college football party and met this cute girl when I first saw her. I found out she cheers for the same sports teams I do, and that we had something in common right off. She's 23, works full time, but lives at home for now. We all were drinking and I got a random kiss on the cheek amongst other things from her (including random head rubs and such). She then sat in my lap for a good 15 minutes before going to smoke a cigarette. I didnt get her number but got her invited to my 21st birthday dinner with close friends.

So my predicament:

Do I wait on my ex-girlfriend with the crazy family I've had trouble with of 3 years?

or

Do I go after the new, older, and less dramatic girl that I met at this party?

I vote work it out with your ex. if you truely love her you'll be willing to say screw it to her family and focus on her. but if it is so easy for you to consider a new girl you dont know, then maybe you dont really love your ex..

yeah I say you try and work things out with your ex I mean if you really love her like you say you do you shouldnt mind her family its her you love wether they like it or not!..plus consider this the new girl might be cute and all and like you said she looks less dramatic but is she??..you really dont know..imagine if you leave youre ex, maybe the love of your life for someone you just met and really dont know her personality..if you love your ex fight for her even if her family doesnt approve..good luck =]

-as for her family, sometimes love put's you through a lot of stuff, if it's real love, it's worth working through it, cause it's most deff more than worth it.
follow your heart, not your head- goodluck.

What makes her family not like you? Perhaps if you worked it out with your ex, they would be impressed. But if you are on the fence, it kind of already means that you don't want to get back together with your ex. If you really loved her enough, there shouldn't be any question in your mind.

I am accually going through kind of the same thing. Except I found a girl that I really like and enjoy being with but I realized that I still love my ex girlfriend and I was just in a rebound relashonship. The funny thing is I have a chance to be with my ex girlfriend that I love but that also means that I need to ditch the girl I am currently involved with. I think it is best to try and listen to what your heart is telling you because that is what I am going to do tomorrow.
