I was tought the same thing, when I was growing up, but I stopped thinking that way, I love God and believe He has someone out there, but you gota take the inicitive and get to know him, I also had the same problem I waited for the guy I went to church with to talk to me 1st(he liked me) but he ended up getting a gurlfriend, I dont c him anymore, so hun dont wait for him, talk to him 1st... and the birthday gift..? why not get him something, thats what christians do right.. give...
