Should i believe him or not..

Weell there is this boy right..I used to like him a while back but sometiing happened and I stopped..When I liked him he liked me back..After that small incident, I started ignoring him..Then all of a sudden,we started talking and I got to know him...

better.Just when I thought everything was going on well,rumours sarted going on about him and another girl hooking up...After further research,I found it was true.When I confronted him,he said that it was not true..It seems as though he wants to take our friendship to another level,although the air had not been properly cleared up...
Do you think I should believe him or not??I really wantto take things to another level too.
