She's right - you're not being accompanied by an adult - she's doing her job, looking after your best interests - she obviously loves you and Cares - many, many, don't - be Thankful...Take care !!

You could try to work out a deal with her where she takes you to the cinema and then lets you watch the film with your friends alone. She can go shopping or watch another film, and meet up with you again after you've seen the film and had a snack with your friends, or whatever.

I would take my son, at 12 or 13, to the movies, but I would drop him off and return to pick him up at a designated time. I would usually arrive a little early to make sure all was on the up and up. and it never was a late movie, daytime and weekends only during the school year.
in this day and age of cell phones you at least know your child can contact you if you are needed.
talk to your mom and ask if you can go to the movies, on a weekend day, with her dropping you off and picking you up right after the movie has ended. perhaps one of your friends could come to your house after the show.

You may not understand it now, but she's doing the right thing. I recently became a parent, and I was a real bad kid, always complaining that my mom was ruining my life, never letting me do what I want.

You don't want to hear this, but here goes: She's right. You'll understand why when you get older. I know it's a cliche, but it's true. Manchester can be a rough place...

okay well talk to her about how oncomfortable your feeling. its harsh but true tell her your embarassed and your reaching the age where you want to be doing things on your own. tell her that she can buy the tickets before and give them to you in the car if you want.then drop you off and pick you up from the cinema. maybe even get an older mate to take you by bus.explain to her what time it finishes and when youl be back. youve gottah let her learn by her mistakes and see that you need some freedom but shes probli just worried because she doesnt want you getting hurt. just be sensible and youl be fine
