Shitzu health problem

I have a shitzu dog and over the past few days his tail has been hanging down aroung his back end and he seems out of sorts please could you tell me what could be the cause of this

It could be anything really. Maybe he got into something that is making him sick, or he could have some kind of condition. It's best to take your dog to the vet to get it checked out.

A number of illnesses could cause this condition. Watch his fesus and urine for signs of blood and/or infection, and constipation. If he doesn't get better withing a couple days you need to call your vet. God's blessings

His tail hanging down IS a sign that he's not feeling good. As orion said, taking a look at his feces after he goes...if he doesn't have diarreah, does his poop have mucous in it? That's a sign of an irritated bowel...

Is he eating? Try offering him a small amout of white rice, with boiled with lean hamberger...if it IS a stomach upset, he probably should eat the hamberger and rice for a few days, then gradually add his regular food to it.

Dogs rarely get constipated...but they DO eat things that can impact their bowel...(rocks, toys, squeakies from inside toys)...so watch him carefully. If he gets worse...CALL THE VET!!

Have you checked around his bottom under his tail and make sure he doesn't have some poo stuck in his hair. I know this sounds gross but it is something that happens, with this kind of dog. If you keep his hair long and haven't given him a sanitary clip recently. They will hold their tail down like that, because they are feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable.

ooo...good thought, Magic...I know when I have Molly clipped I request that they tag her like an old ewe...and those are my exact words to the groomer...Poo sticks to those hairs, and I think it actually makes it hard to go potty, after it builds up...

my shitzu is 2 years old about a month ago I noticed a raised dime size area on his back its not red or irritated, it seems to be underneath his skin he doesn`t seem to be in any pain but what do you think this is or is this something I should be worried about

my shitzu sometmes throws up in the morning yellow foammy stuff what is the problem? my e-mail address is Fun mail me

my dog is acting strange she is around 2-3 years.shes been yelping and walking like one leg is asleep for a minute.I press down on eveything to see if she yelps,its more when you dont even touch her.she's a shitzu,and I think it may be constipation or something in her face area?
