Sexless marriage with husband

I am in a sexless marriage with my husband. We have been married for nine years, and for the past five years, we've barely had sex...
I want to leave him, but then I don't. I love him, but am not in love with him. Sad to say, he's more like a brother...

to me, than the love of my life. I have thought about cheating, but I can't do that either...I'm only 34, I can't stay celibate forever. I'm not scared to leave, but I'm just thinking of the people who will be hurt in the process...like families, etc. I have tried giving him ultimatums, and that hasn't worked. He is very hesitant to open up to whats going on...He's been to the doctor, and everythings in good working condition. I've suggested counseling...please help.

Has he been evaluated for mood disorders? Is he on any medications, and could they be killing his libido? (Many meds have this side effect.) Is he depressed? It is not normal for a healthy male to not have a sex drive. You say that he's been to the doctor, BUT did he let the doctor know SPECIFICALLY that he wanted to find out why he had no libido? My guess is NO. It is an area that NO MAN wants to bring up, even to a doctor.

The first thing might be to talk to his doctor about your concerns. The doctor may not be able to tell you anything (patient confidentiality and all) but he will be alerted to what to look for.

Secondly, maybe some counselling for yourself might help you handle this problem and show you a solution.
