It isn't wrong in a general sense, so long as having casual sex is something you enjoy.

If you both want it then it's not wrong. And to destinydriven, go screw yourself, because it is 2009 and you should be able to accept the fact that people have sex with other people of the same gender.

I'm gay. I was very sexually active with my last girlfriend, but I couldn't bear it. I didn't enjoy it. I would cry, shake and obsessively wash myself afterward. It seemed dirty. It smelled disgusting, it looked disgusting and there came a day when I couldn't do it, anymore. I couldn't even look at her. That is gay.

I'd do it. You may help him realize some important things about himself. His sexuality, to begin with.
