Sex at 16?.... just a condom? is that enough?

Hey. My boyfriend and I have been dating for basically 8 months now... and he says hes waited long enough.(to have sex) He is SO sure I wont get pregnant if we use a condom, but I know thats not true, and he thinks I dont care about him b/c I wont do this one thing for him. I really want to, just as much as him, but im a girl, and I know all about getting pregnant and stuff.... id rather die.he acts like its no big deal. (hes a virgin too) I want to get birth control, b/c that plus condoms is more than enough protection for me, but im only 16.... and im afraid to ask my mom because then shell know im thinking about sex. shes asked if I wanted it before, when I first started dating this guy, but I was too stubborn and was like no mom! I dont do that stuff!! I care a lot about him, but I dont know what to do to make him wait. He thinks we'll never do it.... but we will if were together as long as we talk about. so why the rush? I know it will make him happy.... me too... but I cant have the grief and anxiety of worrying about "if im pregnant" . Im not scared to actually do it... or anything, its just purely about getting pregnant. im a virgin, and it would be totally ironic if when I do it for the first time, with protection, I get pregnant. Do you think its safe to do it with a condom? any stories or advice? I mean I want to... we start making out and .... *sigh* omg I want him... but I just.... cant. Do you need a parents permission to get birth control?? PLEASE HELP! I have plenty of self control. he comes over a lot... I see him every day, and I can say no, its just... I want to so bad. I want him to know I love him and want him, but I just dont want to get pregnant. id kill myself before that happened. Im scared it will happen cause my mom got pregnant at 14. then again this is my first ever boyfriend too. iuno ............. help

I talked to my mom, and im getting an appointment for birth control soon. So yea I'll feel a lot better when this happens b/c if anything DOES happen, I'll be protected. Plus condoms. Thanks for your advice.

Don't ever let a guy talk you into something you don't want. Getting pregnant is a very real concern. A condom is very safe when used correctly but there are a lot of things people do to condoms to make them unsafe. Keep them in there wallet; never put them on because it wrecks the mood. I think you are not ready and that you should remember you are in control of that decision. You are smart to learn from your mom's situation; it shows you are a smart girl. Your virginity is something you can never get back, so make sure you are 100% ready when the time comes.

talk to your mom as much as possible on this topic. communication is key.

16 is too young for sex. you should wait a few years.

NO! im not all that religious myself but I no you shouldnt have sex until your married. itll be more special after the long wait and theres all those diseases out there. please, just wait awhile and if he really loves you hell wait too

Waiting is a great thing to do. I know...me and my girlfriend waited 9 months because we wanted to build our emotional fondation before we moved on to the physical part. Its good to be concerned and worried because sex can ruin your life but you seem like a very smart girl and you'll know when the time is right and dont ever doubt yourself...if he really loves you then he'll respect your desicion.
