How do you do your septum?

How do you do them? What makes them hurt less? (for those of us whose parents won’t let us get them done until we’re eighteen, and we don’t want to wait) :d & around what gauge is a safety pin, just out of curiousity.

So, I really hate being called an idiot because I like to do my own piercings. (: Kthanks.

Honestly, if your parents arent allowing this simple piercing then you apperently dont have any currently, correct? This means you have absolutly no experience with the procedures and the work that is put forth towards you having a safe and clean experience with your piercing. I am not a professional yet, but I am in the beginning of an apprenticeship, and having done most of my piercings myself, I know what the difference is in the results of both professional quality and DIY quality. Dont get me wrong, all of mine came out close to perfect, but that doesnt take away from the amount of risk that I put myself through. only two out of the nine piercings I have are professionally done. I would recommend that for the sake of your health, DONT DO IT YOURSELF!!

If you don’t want to wait until your 18 and your parents won’t allow it, then your S.O.L Sht out of luck. Now here comes a nice lecture - You DON’T pierce ANYTHING yourself. Only a true moron would even THINK about doing ANY piercing by their self. Piercings are meant to be done PROFESSIONALLY… no matter what. If you pierce it yourself, chances are you’ll end up with infections, it won’t heal up correctly, and you probably won’t even pierce it right to begin with. Don’t listen to ANYONE giving you tips on how to do this yourself. Seriously, they’re full of sht. They’re NOT professionals and they DON’T know what they’re doing. Neither do you for that matter. If they would claim to be a professional piercer, ignore them because they’re lying. If they were truly a professional, they’d be saying DON’T EVER do ANY piercing yourself. ALWAYS get your piercings done by a PROFESSIONAL like myself.

Listen to my advice, I know what I’m talking about. You WILL regret doing it yourself and you’ll be wishing like hell you would have gotten it done professional. It’ll be well worth the price and you won’t be sorry, I promise. By getting it done professionally, you will KNOW it’s done right and you will have a VERY LOW risk of infection if you care for it properly that is. So seriously, DON’T DO IT YOURSELF. Get it done by a PROFESSIONAL.

Maybe it’d be better if you tried reasoning with your parents. Talk to them and explain to them the truth behind piercings. Maybe if you talk to them and beg a little they’ll give in.

Safety pins are about size 16 g. But, you should use a medical injection needle, which are about size 12 g or just order a piercing kit offline. It is extremely difficult to get a ring in after you’ve pierced your septum with a safety pin. I’ve pierced my septum multiple times and other parts of my face. You need to have someone help you keep it steady, because if you pierce it crooked, even just slightly, it won’t look right. Make sure the piercing device is sterilized with alcohol. When you have your septum ring in, wash it with a SEA SALT solution, and nothing else like alcohol, peroxide, neosporin, ect. It won’t heal right. Wash it with the sea salt solution 3 times a day to prevent infection. And during the day, wash it off with water to rid of the dry cells (crusty stuff) that will build up around the hole in your septum. And you probably already knew, but to hide from your parents, slip the ring up in your nose. A black ring is much less visible. Hope you enjoy your piercing & don’t get caught! ;]

Sorry, didn’t mean to offend you and I apologize if I came on a bit too stong but it’s true. Self piercing isn’t intelligent. It’s a lot better and safer just to go to a professional.
