Separated relationship

I started dating this guy about four months before the end of my Senior year in high school. Our relationship was great and I really care for him BUT he is a year younger than me. This poses a problem, at least on my part, because I am now in college and he has been finishing high school for the past year and I have noticed that I don't do well in long distance relationships(we are now 6 hours apart). Every time I go home to try and break it off and suggest being friends for a while he gets upset and because I still have feelings for him I stay with him. He also has expressed that if I were to break up with him he wouldn't be able to be my friend. I don't want to break up with him because I've met someone or anything like that, it's just that I don't like having the title or having to play the role of a girlfriend when I don't feel like this is a relationship, it feels like we are only friends, even though he shows deep affection over the phone or on the interet, I feel like something is missing for this to be a girl/boy friend relationship. I really don't know what to do. Should I stay with him or not? and if not how can I break it off without falling into his trap?

hey, well hey you r still young and you stil have to find that perfect guy for u, you never know what it really is tell you date guys and have fun, I have a friend that was in your position and I told her that she should brake up with him, because she is 2 young to be soo compited, well ya, this what I think you should do, and you should just tell him that if he can not be your friend then how can you love him, when he wants it all or nothing, and that is not cool, if he cant be your friend when you brake up then he is no worth it girl!
