Sell my books

Asked by fau 3 months ago, 3 answers.

Hello,

I’m not sure what I’m doing on this site since it appears to be a site for young kids with minor everyday problems. However it doesn’t hurt to try, so here’s my question; I’ve rare collected books pretty much all my life. I sold a few and auction...

off a few but never really made that much money for them which is tragic but so true.

I’ve recently been in contact with a well-known auction house to auction off a book that I bought for $132,000.00 a long time ago, hoping that if I held on to it, I might make a million someday. Ha, what was I thinking? The auction house does not guarantee I will get what I paid for the book, not to mention that I will need to pay fro fees, photos, advertisements and commission if the book does get sold; that leaves me with almost nothing. Hurrayyy

Anyway, I’m broke, I have no job, and I have no car and no money. I live in a friend’s cottage far away from civilization and all I have to my name is that darn expensive book that I cannot sell.

I have searched and search the Internet for a buyer or a place to see that nightmare of a book but I’ve found absolutely nothing thus far. Any ideas?

First, this is not a site for 'young kids with minor problems'. Second, get a job.
Ok, on to your question. Try Ebay.

If you could afford to spend $132,000 on a book at some point in your life, you must have made a lot of other devastatingly bad decisions when it comes to money management. The only thing I can suggest is that you sell the book through the auction house for as much as you possibly can to get yourself back on your feet. Use the money to get a cheap but dependable used car and go in search of a job.

I do admire people who manage to write a novel and have their book published as it's a gift to be able to write something so interesting that people are willing to spend money on. happy

Why don't you go and visit a bookshop, have a look at the books, turn the books over or have a look inside and see who the publishers are, memorise the names of these publishers, then go home and do a search on the internet to get the telephone numbers so you can give them a call... worth a try and goodluck..

LOL, you could be the next famous author in the making happy
