If you are human then you are going to be a little self-conscious - about many things. We all have things that we don't like about ourselves and those are the things that we are self-conscious about.

To have a generally healthy self-image, we must find ways that will make us feel better about any particular negative item.

For instance, I am not very tall, about 5'6". I try to walk straight and upright, with my shoulders back and my head up. I also take a bit longer stride than what otherwise would be normal for me. While I may not really be taller, in my mind, I am. And that is what matters. It's self confidence.

Another idea. Fake it until you make it. It works. You eventually come to believe in yourself if you try hard enough.

Another idea. Have bravado. Take educated chances. Force yourself to participate - but make sure that what you say is something good. People will admire your spunk and think that you are smart. They will be attracted to you. Even if you have pimples, girls will want to be near you.

Good luck,
Coach Mitch
