Self actualizing

Me Asked by zonumnothsa 8 months ago, 1 answer.

When I was a junior in High school I was working on a theory paper I called the Lotus Project. The theory was that someone that decides they are at a conflict or obstacle in their life could stop and through a process of embracing a few simple unquestionably true statements, would be able to bypass any denial, irrational emotions and self-sabotage they suffer from and have a clean self-actualized step to start on. Unfortunately I lost the paper and can't find the copy on my computer. It was a lot less nazi-esque than I'm making it sound on here, but I remember the idea got me through a lot of ridicule and harsh times in High school. It helped me embrace my rights as a human, and taught me to feel sorry for people who were cruel to me because they had problems of their own and reasons for acting out the way they did. This is the first time in a long time I'm actually thinking about it again, and looking back I was a substantially calmer, kinder, and more liked person than I am now. Phew. What do you guys thing? I know it's a mind job but I could really use your guys' feedback. I'd like to maybe try and rewrite the ideals sometime.

I think you'd like the work of Deepak Chopra.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfilment of Your Dreams is a book he wrote in the mid-90s. It sounds kind of cheesy, but he describes 7 basic "truths" that when we consider, help us make better decisions in how we lead our lives. I suggest you check it out and let me know what you think. It's helped me in life more than ever (it's kind of my form of spirituality).
