Seedless watermelon?

Why do seedless watermelons still have those white seeds, and is there any seedless watermelon w/o those seeds?

they are still in there in there because they are edible

Lots of seedless fruit have soft 'dots' which mark where the seeds used to be in earlier forms - bananas are a good example, as that's what all the brown dots down the middle are. I agree with hooch that the soft white seeds are edible, in contrast to the big black seeds you get in other watermelons. Have you found that seedless watermelons don't taste so good? I think I have...
