Security and abuse of this site

Ak so not long ago, I asked about a particular user, if you could do anything about him and you said you deleted him. I am wondering do you guys block via IP address? Or can this guy just make a new account?

I really don't mean to be an 4$$ or anything, the question was really getting to me so I though maybe I should ask. You know, do it and then one can say they tried.

What's the policy? Will this guy be able to come back?.

By the way if this is invasive or anything just let me know without answering my question because I don't want to be a huge bother or a bad guy type of thing.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Is this question for a specific person? I can look into the user you mentioned, but I'm deleting the username from this post.

So in this case, I banned the IP address. There are more things we can do, *however* it's in our best interest NOT to reveal those, as then people would know better how to get around our security & safety measures

In some cases, we have handed over the info to the local authorities to prosecute them...as it is illegal to break the rules on our site, etc, and they can get in serious trouble, be thrown in jail, etc.

i hope you do not take offense,

Ally_xo,

I think there would have to be "intent" before anyone could be jailed for breaking Fun Advice Terms of Use.

It's not our rules that could land you in jail, it's California law regarding harrassi g people online, etc...so no, just doing something wrong on our site wouldn't land you in jail, however you can lookup the laws regarding cyberbulling etc and make your own interpretation of what would be illegal, etc.
