School work and personal life

so tired of being me Asked by dezera about 1 year ago, 2 answers.

Ok, I have a really confusing life!! I've missed 2 days of school so far due to my hospital issues...and I'm really far behind... how can I keep up with school work and dealing with my at home issues when my at home issues keep me from going to school...

or I get out early or go in late because of them... and what if it keeps me out for a couple days?? I really hate falling behind because I'm a freshmen and the homework is like pilled clear to the sky I swear...lol... but how can I keep up with it all when I can't be there all the time if half the time at all or the whole time???

I suggest you talk to your teachers about your situation; you dont have to let them know every detail of the problems at home but let them know that they are a factor for you being so far behind and that you are not slacking or anything like that. Let them know about the hospital issues and ask them for some extensions; especially on big projects. But once you get these stick to them and complete them. The big projects which take up most of the time should be done carefully and with full attention; revision, and other small homework -which is also important- should be done perhaps 1st but with enough time to do other work.

Make a schedule for your self; a time line for when you want some work completed. If the problems at home are overwhelming and really take a big toll on school talk toy your parents or guardians and let them know this...after all school is very important.

Also try not to stress out yourself too much; know that you are trying your hardest. With some consolation freshman year does count because it is the foundation of your GPA but also when applying to colleges, colleges like to see a nice, high steady progression for the better.

good luck and stay sane!

Yep, talk to your teachers, support aids, and maybe even the principal/school counselors. I work in high schools with kids who are dealing with home stuff..life, etc, and the more help you ask for the more help and understanding you might get.

Unfortunately sometimes you don't always get the help that you need and you may need to tough it out or change schools.

Start with talking to your teachers and a school counselorhappy
