Scarlet fever rash

Ok, so a few days ago I got scarlet fever rash (caused by the strep throat virus... Its an allergic reaction to the toxins the strep bacteria produce for all who are not familiar with what it is) I went to the doctor yesterday to get antibiotics. I am to take three every day. so far today I have taken two. does anyone have any idea how long it will take for my rash to go away.. .or for it to at least stop itching? and I have tried cortisone cream and calamine lotion to ease the itch... Are there any other things I could do for it?

I don't know how long it will last...but my nephew just had it. try taking an oatmeal bath. those usually help.

oh, and once you've had scarlet fever, you're more susceptable to getting strep again. be careful hon!
