Scared to get shots

Okay please help! I'm freaking out!!! Okay so I have a HUGE phobia of needles/shots stuff like that...just the whole concept freaks me out!! Last time I got a shot, I nearly passed out, and I'm terrified!!! I'm going to Africa over the summer, and I have to get 3 shots (two tomorrow)!!! HELP!!! I HATE HATE HATE shots and I always get sooo freaked out!!! How can I overcome this so I don't pass out tomorrow? Has anyone been to Africa and do you know if the shots hurt?! Please help me! I'm really scared...

ok well I know its kinda cliche but...try not to think about it...really concentrate on some thing else...and just ignore it as much as you can...and as for africa I don't know what its like but all I know is I might need those shots because imma go to the 2010 world cup in south africa =]

umm I accually just got a shot and it was not bad at all. it was just a shot for I don't know when I went for a physical but not to go to africa. lucky. but I would try to not look. find something on the wall to look at. also I would tell them not to count at all otherwise you know when its coming and you think it will be bad. so tell the people giving you the shot not to count and just do it. also a good thing I to consintrate on lifting your feet and holding them up. I don't know why but it always helps me. a doctor told me that once and now I always do it. sorry im babbling on to to sum things up
dont look

and lift your feet and hold them up

The best thing is to not look. Stop being a sooky la la lol. A friend of mine had shots latelly anad I pinched her on one arm and the shot went into the other. She didnt know what to cry about lol. xxx good luck luv

go in there have your mom or who ever is taking you to the doc tell them you don't want to see the needle hold your arm out and put your head against the wall look right at the wall and don't think of the needle think of something cool and happy then have them tell you when its all done also ice your arm a lot before you go so it is some what numb
