Dear guitarmasta,
No plan is fool proof. At your age there is too much that can go wrong...such as where do you sleep when your mother's friends find out they could be charged with a criminal offence for harbouring a minor? Half way houses are known for theft and even sexual abuse. Begging for money on the street makes you a target for sexual predators and low lives who make their own way by watching you, following you then taking everything you own when there is no one to protect you. No school will take you without a permanent address and without your grade 12 you will not find suitable work. IF you are being abused at home seek out your counsellor at school, speak with a trusted adult. They can place you in a foster family where you'll have a roof, food and get an education.
Sue...good luck

I think you should stick it out till you got a job and a decent place to go enough money for first month and last months rent and food for at least a month so if you move out of the area you have time to get a job I no in canada you are alloud to move out on your own at 16 I did im not sure what the law is their but you should know enough that whe you leave it shouldnt be running away I think you should take advantage of what you got their with your parents they pay for your food and rentand your dont need to work so you can get your schooling done with no interuptions from being to bussy but if you really need to leave please take my advice

where will you live?u have only a thousand dollars and a truck.living on that would only last a week.and you're too young to get a house or apartment.I'm from louisiana and my best friend and I ran away to florida.all we had was a bank card [I had 15k in the bank] my car,our cloths and a cell phone.it was about 8 months ago.when we ran away he was 17 about to be 18 a month later.we tried to get a place to stay but we couldnt.we tried for about a week.then finally we found a motel that would let us stay ther.it was soo gross.the walls were dirty and disgusting.but it was better than a car so we took it.I couldnt even last 3 days there.soo I dicided that we should just go home b/c I dont want to be living like that.so even with all of that money we had to go back home.before you leave think about it:I had more money than you do and I still couldnt make it.what will you do when you run out of money?

you can always take a break... or get a job.. and keep preparing for running away. Get a job - or get a gig playing guitar - something that will sustain you while you are out of the comfort of your home. Deal with the hassles of home until you can support yourself and have something set up that will work long term. You may find that a job, or even looking for one - will give you the escape you need... look at home as a FREE place to live while you earn some $$!!

I think finding a counselor, as previously suggested is a good idea, they may give you some suggestions, but find one that you like and TRUST. Test them out before you tell them you want to run away - talk about your problems at home and see what they say... good luck!
