The first band that comes to mind is Metallica
I personally don't like them
But everyone knows who they are.
Everyone has their own view on who is the best band ever.
Im currently enjoying the music of In fear and faith

In terms of Metal, I would immediately say Trivium! As for Rock... There are many contenders, but not too many stand out for me apart from Sevendust, lol.
