Resetting an ipod

my ipod has been a bit funny lately, skipping songs
I remember once a girl did like hold, centre and buttons like that, and it stopped. any ideas? xx

What kind of ipod do you have?

iTouch - What I do, being I have one, is as sucky as it is, I restore it, then put everything back on. If you have purchased things from iTunes, your purchases are still there, they just need to be reinstalled into your iPod.

Other kinds - I used to have the iPod Mini, which they dont make any longer, but when I did have it, and it would freeze, I hold the center and Menu, until it fixed itself.

move the hold switch back and forth like 4 times and then hold the center and play button down at the same time for 7 seconds
(it actually might be the center and menu button, you could just try both..)
usually I only reset my ipod if it freezes though.. if its skipping songs maybe you should check to make sure you have the most recent version of your ipod installed.
