Generally no, but I've seen a few exceptions to the rule, for example "King of Wishful Thinking" (remade by New Found Glory), and "Dreams" (remade by the Corrs).

Depends on the song really like cascadas new song "what hurts the most" was originally some country song and it sounds a lot better in techno.
