Diabetes-regular pump vs. omnipod pump
Send me Fun Mail
Well I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about a month ago. I am going to get a pump or an OmniPod. I'm not sure which one to get. I tend to be kind of forgetful so getting an OmniPod would be hard because there are 2 parts, one that is attached to you with the insulin in it and one part that lets you program in how much insulin. But the good thing about the OmniPod is that you dont have to take it off to swim. It is also easier to hide. With a regular pump, you have to take it off to swim and it isn't as easy to hide. Also if you are playing sports, and you fall you could fall on it and hurt yourself or somebody else. The extra tubing can also get caught on things. The plus side to a regular pump is that everything is in one machine. The insulin and the place to program how much insulin you need is all there. I wouldn't need to worry about forgetting any part of it and not be able to give myself insulin. I know that this is long, but I NEED opinions. that you for the opinions in advance. God Bless.
