Really heavy period bleeding, lasts for over a week, why?

I've just come on my period after about 2 months, I was getting really worried. Last time it was really heavy and I needed to wear a super tampon and a extra large super absorbency pad, and change them both every 4 hours otherwise I would leak. Its...

happend again this time and its really uncomfortable and awkward. I dont get very bad pains though, and someone said you bleed heavyer when you have sex, but im a virgin so why is my period so heavy and spaced out between months?? Im worried I might have some kind of cervical or uterus cancer.
