Why don't gamers figure stuff out for themselves?

Why doesn't every "gamer" out there just sit down and figure it out for themselves? Don't get me wrong I even need help sometimes I've beaten over 300 video games so my wisdom amounts to something!

I think for some people, they just want to accomplish the "end goal" other people like to figure it out themselves.

With my limited time, I'm one of those people that would rather have short cut, than figure it out
