What is the reason for rating comments?

Ok I dont get it. what is the reason of rating comments on a persons profile?

You can rate comments poorly if some one is disrespectful or gives horrible advice. If somebody gives awesome advice, you can rate it good. (: If a person gets enough bad ratings, they will be removed from funadvice.

Actually, I'm not sure happy It was a feature added by my business partner...I think it's interesting, but, don't see the value.

(unless the profile comment is a suggestion, etc...then sure, hitting 'liked it' is like saying you agree, without having to type it out, then it makes sense).

sealedlips...we don't have negative ratings on our site, and haven't for over six months...for comments we have a like feature. For answers, we have was this helpful.

But we don't have a way to rate those negatively for photos, yes, we have a scale from 1-5...(or 1-10, depending on which page you're looking at).

Though, if enough people report somebody as abusive or if they break the rules repeatedly, yes, we remove them...but, not for a low rating for advice b/c we don't have low ratings anymore.
