In situps your feet stay on the floor, with your knees up. You put your hands by your ears, lay down on your back and sit up, bending at the waist and keeping your back straight, to where your elbows meet your knees. In crunches you lie on your back with your knees up and your feet off the floor. You put your hands by your ears and curl your body until your elbows meet your knees. You don't bend at the waist, but curl your whole body. Also, your head doesn't touch the floor. Crunches are supposed to be better for your back, causing fewer injuries than situps.

crunches you just work your upper abs because your only lifting your upper part of your stomach up half way. sit ups you work all of your abs because your lifting your whole stomach. situps are better if you want to build abs or lose weight!
