I've been in search for a long-lasting and good working laptop for a while now and I wanted some on-hand advice or reviews from people who have used laptops by Dell, Apple, HP, or Intel. Which is the better company? Are there any problems with any laptops you might have used from any of these companies? It would help me out a lot!

honestly, Apple

my last laptop with them lasted me about 5 years before I finally got a new one because it was outdated and the battery's ability to hold a charge was finally taking a nosedive

it still runs though, after about 6 years, just has to be plugged in to run

I stick with Acer anyday. When I was in secondary school (6 years ago) I was given an Acer laptop, I am using it at this very moment. Therefore over 6 years of teenage handling, for example:
*Spilling drinks over it
*Crumbs getting in between the keys
*Being dropped on a few occasions
*Frustrated hitting from temper tantrums
*Constant use and wear

It still works and is very much so in good use. Yes I admit I have had a few things changed on it - like a new keyboard or new battery charger (this was due to overusing) but you can get cheap replicas or accessories from eBay.

My Acer is now quite old and is an old format. I would advise you to get a newer version where an internet LAN card is built into the machine.

I'm a laptop user for the first time. I have an HP laptop and it works great!
I've never had too many major problems with it except it turning off when I'm away. The HP I have is a quiet computer since the fan is real quiet. I would recomend HP since that's a good brand. Yet, I've heard good and bad things about that company. This is my first laptop since I don't own a desktop. My computer hasn't failed on me so far! You should get an HP computer that won't crash or overheat too much. Mine doesn't overheat to where it feels the motherboard would fry! So, if you're looking for a good laptop, HP would be your best bett since I've never used any other brands.
Good luck.
