They are like a 'doggie Registered Nurse'...pretty highly educated, but not as educated as a Vet...(Vet's, by the way, have just about as much schooling as a human Dr., does).

A tech is what they use to call the Vet assistant. Now the name has been changed. Phrannie is right about that
