Can you do anything with a purity ring?

my dad is getting me a purity ring and I was jw if you can't have any kind of sex.. like I know you can't have like actual sex but can you give&get like oral sex&stuff?

I don't know it depends what your opinion of sex is...intercrse isnt exactly the only version of sex, so I would actually consider oral stuff...sex. but it is all up to you if you want to give that promise to your dad or not..ya know? hopw that helps...

well if your dad is gettin you one I don't think hell be tooo keen on the idea of any type of sex. but if you want to, you can probly do everything but it. it all depends on what you want and how you feel

Your father is asking you to wear an outward expression showing your intention to refrain from sexual contact until you get married. If you are not certain about what the perimiters and limitations of your agreement you had better settle that first. If you do agree to it and then cheat and break the promice you will realy feel bad. So have the tough talk with your dad and stick to your boundries.

ahh I got one the summer before my sophomore year... I stopped wearing it and I guess my mom knew why...my parents said it was important and stuff but if you have the ring you shouldnt really be doing anything.
I on the other hand think you should wait til your sure your absolutely ready.
I made the wrong decision to not wait. and it was not worth it with the guy I was with. =/

I love the idea of purity rings, but it's been proven (and shame on me, I don't remember the study name!) that more religious teens that have purity rings end up having sex, be it oral, anal or good-old-fashioned than religious teens who don't.

with that said, the powers that be changed the definition of 'virgin' to include anal, oral and good-old-fashioned, so consider that.
