Pugs and housetraining

Okay, so I just adopted a 6 week old pug. I will actually have her at 9 weeks, as you have to wait until 8 weeks to take them from their moms and then we are going on vacation. How long does it take to housetrain a pug around this age? And is it hard? And if anyone has done this with a pug puppy please give me some ideas... I am most nervous about the housebreaking as it was easy with my labs but I have heard it is harder with smaller dogs... Help!

These links may/may not be helpful to you, but I'm hoping it will be some assistance. (:

Training a Pug (Or any other breed of dog) will be hard work! It's good that you know to teach them early in life. The older they get, the harder it is to train.

It's only harder because they are tiny...and faster...

Pugs are slower at housetraining...but you do it the same way...by making it your "mission in life" for 2 to 4 weeks, to housetrain them. They aren't slower because they aren't as smart, but because they're bred to be a touch more "determined" than say a Lab or a German Shepherd...

You'll do fine...

Well, every so often try to make it go outside. If it has a name make him know his own name. So when you think it might have to go out call his name and see if he'll go out. Ok, I have a dog too and her name is Katiee.LOl. Ok , so every so often me or someone else in my family will go "Katiee, Need to go out (need to go out?" sometimes she's already there but usually we have to wait until she comes when her name is called. IF she needs to she'll go out, if not she just lays there on the floor and does nothing! LOl srry for the story, just trying to help!! Also DO NOT get frustraded if it goes in the house. It happens to every one who has a dog. It has to get used to it.
