Ps3 hooking up to internet

ok I bought a ps3 and an eithernet cable well I have comcast and my modem only has one spot to hook up the eithernet cable to it and of course the computer is taking that spot well I un hooked the computer from the modem and plugged in the ps3 but it say...

it doesnt work

ya just have to change da settings on da playstation go to settings den network settings den network configuration and select easy and it should work if not call sony about the problem or comcast
