doctors put it under uknown if their not spirtual. (you want the names of the stigmatta people funmail me) the wounds came from god giving them to them because they prayed to suffer like jesus.

Thing is, not everyone would call that 'evidence' or 'proof'
The only evidence most people would accept would be if Jesus actually came to earth and performed miracles infornt of everyone to see. I doubt even then people would actually believe in him.
How do you know they didn't do the wounds thmselves?

Sorry, but to me that is not proof. Religion is based on theory.

But what if the people did them thmselves?
There are a lot of people out there who would actually go to these lengths to make a point. It's not impossible to stick something sharp through your palms and feet!

As mentioned prior, very good possibility they were self-inflicted. Did anyone actually see the wounds open and the blood flow out, or did someone knock on their neighbors door and ask. Umm...do ya think you could help me out here!
Neighbor (a Christian), OMG (goodness)! Its the stigmatta!! Can we stop by the church to show the pastor before we go to the emergency room?

This isn't evidence of anything except that people are prepared to inflict horrible wounds on themselves in the name of religion. Even if they're not self-inflicted, there are far simpler explanations than 'stigmata'.

no, and that really is just a stupid theory for proof
stigmata is a very rare DISEASE that affects some people
making them bleed from usually there hands and feet
it has nothing to do with christanity or there god or son of god or anything
its just another rare disease that some people suffer from
however there are also a lot of delusional people in the world, and many delusional religiose people. so some people fake there own wounds in an attempt to convert people into there religion by making it seem like theres proof of it
and just because a doctor sees a cut on there hands and feet thats bleeding, doesnt mean they couldnt have done it themselves

***I did not know that, but I believe it's true cause god and jesus DO exist***

You're claiming a belief, based on a separate BELIEF being FACTUAL. Which it isn't...

***people don't need proof because then why do people celebrate christmas,easter/palm sunday ???***

*sigh* for the hundredth time... Christmas and Easter were BOTH Pagan holidays FIRST. Palm Sunday? Don't forget to include 'Ash Wednesday' ...and any other crap holidays that Christianity DIDN'T rip-off from other religions.

***and a bible, people just gotta have faith***

Yeah... you're taking ''child-like faith'' a little TOO literally... -__-

I saw a show on stigmatta once. They went down to south America somewhere where there is a woman who gets it. They filmed the whole thing. It was obvious she was inflicting the wounds on herself, yet believers all around her were declaring it a miracle.

Religion is a mighty powerful psychological force.

Please tell me why God would allow people to suffer like Jesus did if He sent His Only Begotten to suffer those things FOR US, so we didnt have to? Wouldnt that make Christs suffering for that person less important? And wasnt the new covenant made that we would now Spiritually show our obedience to God? Why Physical wounds? If we need to suffer physically too, why dont we still offer sacrifices?

The stigmatta (of the hand) is an easy magic trick that involves two colorless chemicals that are applied to each hand separatly then when they are joined burns through your hands causing you to bleed. Those are the only cases that have been documented and disproven. The fact is we havent had a legit and documented stigmatta in about 800 years.

I dont understand why we
need proof! Have faith.
We actually have no proof
of anything here. Just
what we have sensed. So
really its a matter of
whether or not you want to
believe. God is REAL!

obviously, this man Jesus was an ordinary jewish citizen living in todays Israel. you can trace back that far, about 2000 years, to find there was in fact a radical in the jewish society named jesus. if what you looking for is an answer to is jesus god's son? cant prove that. obviously id say no, im jewish. but many others would say yes, so its really just a matter of oppinion

Answered by justmypersonalopinion on Apr 22, 2009, 02:17AM

To me, proof that there is a God exists in far more important and convincing evidence than the few occurrences of stigmata. And I think everyone knows that the authenticity of the stigmata have been questioned.

The universe is huge beyond our comprehension. It has energy and matter in quantities that we will never fully grasp. Yet all of that exists and obeys physical laws in such a way that there is enough order to be able to create a stable environment in which life can flourish. This, to me, is unquestionable evidence that a superior intellect, with unimaginable power, was involved at the beginning. A random big-bang just doesn't explain it.

So, if there was a superior intellect, and power, surely He ('it' is too impersonal, and I don't think the creator is subject to gender, so I'll just go with the conventional he) must have had a reason in mind before He went to all that trouble. Well, the reasons may be another topic.

I have NO DOUBT at all that God exists. And I have no doubt that He expects us to make an effort to get to know Him.

So - where does Jesus fit in? That too is another topic. However, Jesus himself recognized that his role was to do the bidding of his 'Father', and to speak what his 'Father' spoke. Jesus NEVER doubted the existence of the Creator. He had a solid relationship with the Creator, and so set an example we would do well to imitate.

On the stigmata again - it was not the wounds that proved Jesus to be a faithful servant of the Creator. Rather, it was his faithful life of service - preaching the message given to him by God. True Christians do more to prove the validity of Christianity by continuing with the same preaching, than by showing that they have wounds in their hands and feet.
