What do you think about profanity on tv? I was just watching spongebob squarepants (a kids show) and suddenly a commercial for a lubricant comes on! Next they show a clip from a show where two people are in bed together, followed by a commercial about condoms! I think it is just absurd that they would advertise these things on breaks of a kids show!!! What do you think???

I agree profanity shouldn't be on TV. And people wonder why so many teenagers are getting pregnant. Well if they watch that garbage on TV that is mainly the reason. Actually I don't like to hear people swear either. I think they do it just to draw attention to themselves. Now when you are in the beroom with your honey, lover, husband etc I think it is alright to swear or use profanity or talk dirty. That turns a lot of people on.

well we are so used to it we're numb. it doesn't really seem that bad anymore. I don't mind it all the time sometimes it pisses me off though. they shouldn't be shpwing it on kid stuff though, if it's a teen/adult channel who cares.
lol yesterday my 7 year old cousin came up to me and said she knew what a d*ldo was... I was like WHAT?! how did you hear about that!! and she told me her friend was talking about it. it's just sick what people especially kids are exposed to!

I don't think any of those things are 'profane'. More like age-inappropriate. Profane is defined constitutionally by community standard, and has to lack any artistic, scientific or political value.

Yes, I took way too many media law classes. lol.
