Make sure that its pluged into your computer too and that it has ink.

Nope they dont run on batteries.. make sure you how power to the electrical outlet you are trying to use, also make sure that if it is a double sided power cable both sides are plugged in completely. I would also make sure there is no damage to the cord from pets or pest.. if you have no luck you can always email the essay to yourself and then print it out in school =\ sorry
