I heard it's used to put on your eyelid to help eyeshadow stick on.

A face primer helps your makeup (foundation, bronzer, blush, etc) stay on longer. Some primers help with oiliness and to even out your skin tone.
An eyeshadow primer makes your eyeshadow more vibrant and helps it stay on longer.

It helps to keep your makeup on throughout the day Think of it like this: An artist must properly prepare the canvas for the paint. A primer does just that...gives the makeup something to adhere to

A primer makes your makeup stay in place without wearing out or melting out. Theirs a face primer to hold your foundation in place and your powder. Their is also eye primer which makes your eyeshadow stay longer and it makes it more brighter+ it doesn't crease. Also their lip primer which makes the lipstick stay in place.Theirs different types of primers you can use for your face! I hope that helped a little bit.

foundation primers are amazing! In addition to everything thats already been said, you end up using less foundation and you can get ones that hide the appearance of redness! Smashbox does really good ones
