I've used the natural remedy you've mentioned, but the recepie I had also called for Tree Tea oil and Rosemary...1 quart water brought to a boil, 1 lemon sliced thin, 1 Teaspoon Rosemary, 1/4 teaspoon Tree Tea Oil. Steep all overnight, and put into a spray bottle...you can use it as often as you like.
Keep in mind, this is ONLY a repellent...the stuff that breaks down insect's skeletons is called Diatomaceous Earth...You can get it at any health food store (this is food quality DE, to be used as a powder, or sprinkled around dog beds, whatever)...or you can get it at a garden store for using in your gardens, around the edge of your house, etc...It's deadly to all insects but totally safe to humans and animals...

Maybe go to this link, or Google and read up on it.
I'd be leery, too...using an insecticide on my PG dog...

Pregnant shih tzu and frontline ?

Pregnant shih tzu and frontline ?
I have a 2 wk possible pregnant shih tzu . I done some research on the internet and ask our vet and he said front line plus would be fine to use on her . I am still very uncomfortable w/ doing so . I am wondering if anyone else has used frontline only...
durning first part of pregnacy and was there any problems w/ mother or pups after born ? I also found a home made recipe of 1 pint water boiling then turn off and steep a thinly slice lemon all day or over night and spray on dog . They say it will eat away the waxy film of the flea and cause it to died . She is sentive to a lot of things so im nervous about trying that . Any help would be welcomed .
