You are most likely to get pregnant for the two weeks in the middle of your cycle. In other words, one week after your last period started until one week before your next is the most likely time.
However, even though ovulation normally happens in the middle of the month, a woman can ovulate at any time. Many things make our cycles change, including changes in diet, changes in the environment and stress. It is possible, though unlikely, to become pregnat during or right before your period.
There is also a slim chance that the pre ejaculate (used mainly for lubrication) caried some sperm in it. The normal chance of getting pregnant with regular sex and no birth control is around 85%. Withdrawl methode only, with regular sex, is around 27%. So there is still a chance you can be impregnated even if he didn't come inside you, and still a chance during or right before your period, and you can still get your first period when you are pregnant, especially if you became pregnant right before you concieved. So yes, it is still possible you could be pregnant, though the chances are quite low. It only takes one time. If you had unprotected sex you have two choices. You have up to 5 days from the time you had sex to get the morning-after-pill. Call the Emergency Contraception Hotline to find out more: 1-888-NOT-2-LATE. Or you can wait and see if your NEXT period comes on time and get a pregnancy test if it doesn't.
