is pot really that big a deal?

I do it
my girlfriend does it
we all look and physically are fine

not really it just makes you stupid.

I suppose it'd depend on who you're asking...It's a big deal to a cop...he'll bust ya and put you in jail...therefore, making it a big deal for YOU...

If you asked a Dr., he'd think it was a big deal to your health...all that gunk going into your lungs, and the fact that they don't know what the long term effects are.

If you ask a regular person on the the street, they'd probably say...'no big deal", but that it makes ya stupid, like perfectdisaster, said...stupid at least while you're stoned.

well no but I mean it does make you lazy most of the time. BUt no its fine, at least you cannot get super addicted to it.

drugs are pathetic, do you want to be stoned for ever? its not good you know, think in ten years time, will a honest decent girl want to be with a stoned person? when your young everything seems cool, im only 16, im wary of the future... be careful chicken!

Well,Compared to all the other drugs you COULD be doing,You could almost say that pot is harmless.
Pot DOES however kill brain cells,and its not great for your lungs to be smoking ANYthing,but I recently read an article in a magazine,and new studies have found that the THC in the marijuana actually counteracts,and so it doesnt in fact hurt your lungs as much as say,a cigarette would.
Mairjuana has many GOOD qualities,mostly medical.Which is why I strongly believe in making it legal.

I smoke pot also.Im still a straight A student,Im still in school,I have a Job,I have a life.I'm not a loser.In fact,I almost think it helps me to concentrate more.

They say it is a gateway drug. I mean, it sounds stupid at first, like who goes from weed to heroin? seriously! lol
But I do think they make a strong point still...If you begin to have lax view about drug use, starting with weed, inevitably you will have a less critical view about other drugs and may want to try them. (drugs that might seriously harm you!)
Also, if you are buying the weed, you probablly know other people who do drugs beyond weed (possibly the dealer who may suggest buying something more dangerous)
Its just that once you get into that culture of doing drugs, even if its just weed, that it makes it way more plausible that you will end up "just trying" something else.
Then you'll end up alone with just your crack pipe in dark alley way with no home, seconds away from ODing...

couple reasons why it should be legalized:
-will be removed from black market and stop empowering gang members
-medical reasons
-would be sold like alcohol, remember alcohol was once prohibited too (in stores away from children, have to be 21+)
-would be a law that you cant drive while intoxicated on weed
-prison population would lower (prisons are overcrowding with nonviolent offenders)
-keep patients from being convicted
-would provide millions of jobs for people
-would make us an independent country (fuel, etc.., debt free america)

people with an addiction (including hard drugs) shouldnt be thrown in jail, they need help
theres more people in jail with mental illnesses than there are in mental institutions

- the War on Drugs is a failure, its a war on its own people. policies need to be changed
we pay billions in taxpayers money to keep the war going and neither side is winning
thats just a waste of our tax money
