I applied to the post office for a job. I have a felony conviction on my record that was expunged. Do I have to tell them about this?

Send this to a friend

yes you should tell them because they do back up checks on every person who applies for a job.

My understanding, if it's been legally erased, it's as if it never happened - no need to mention - I certainly would not volunteer it if that's the case.

An expunged felony is never erased from your record, it does show up if checked out, what expunged felony actually means is that you do not have to list it on an application or tell them about it.

If they do find out about it, they can not hold it against you since it was expunged..
