Portland prom prank

Did anyone hear about this prank at a high school in Portland, Oregon?

Some student(s) managed to access the school's mailing list AND official letterhead and sent a letter to the parent of every student in the school. Claiming to be the school's administration, the letter urged parents to provide their teenage children with alcohol after prom, in the safe environment of their home. Also it included a condom with every letter and urged the importance of safe sex!

What a prank huh? What do you think of it? While I think it was pretty horrifying that someone was able to get the letterhead and mailing lists and could have promoted *anything*, at least they had a good message: teens will be teens, and the safer that parents can keep them--the better.

I didn't hear about that - but thats pretty extreme. Some schools mailing lists are actually very accessible. I remember at my school, several students in my class found the file with all that information on the computer and they showed me because I didn't believe it. There are some really smart computer people in schools and they can easily find a lot of private folders that shouldn't even be possible to be accessed by students.
Your right though, at least they were sending a safe message. But, its the fact that that information is found easily.
