Do you think it is right for people to be married to more then one person?

I believe it could be possible if you could support both families but the government disagrees.

If its what they want and they are truly happy, then I see nothing wrong with it.

Well theres way more to it than that. Other than the marriage some people are kept their agaisnt their will.. usually women and some are forced if there are not enough women in their town to marry more than once. Also there are very many underage marriages going on and girls who are 15 and 16 usually get married and have children and most are forced to have more than one child. I think that yes it is illgeal these things and the goverment should step in. I think marriage is something you should share with one other person in life not like 5

yah, this is a hard topic. I honestly believe in happiness and if thats what everyone is happy doing then by all means have at it, yet it is illegal...so that poses some issues. I personally am not a rule buster. so I have a hard time with it. Besides it is kind of strange. I feel it goes against my nature to being commited to one. And just so you know, I was raised in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. (mormon) Which is the main religion that some of those polygamists branched off on their own direction and carried the more than wife commandment over. my church does not believe that is correct. But the Fundamentalists do. So please do not judge the mormons for that!!! I have been sked a few times already and I just can't drill it in enough!!! EDUCATE YOURSELVES PEOPLE!!! Please!!!

Why do you think that the older men marry these young children?

1.) It's illegal under federal law
2.) I wouldn't be against it if ALL parties were at least 25 years old, and there was NO underage sex.

Bigfran, the older men marrying the young girls were pedophiles trying to sanctify it with religion.

As long as all the parties are adults, and they are acting freely without coercion, then I can't see why I should care.

bimjob, there's nothing illegal with simply living with multiple people you refer to as your 'spouse', as long as you are not legally married to more than one of them.

yeah I think it was a bunch of dirty old men who brought religion into the whole thing as an excuse to cover up.
