in my opinion, these days 99.999% of all politicians will say anything to anybody to get elected - their utmost interest is themselves (benefits/ling pockets/power,etc), not 'looking after the best interests of the people' as should be their job - lacking in core values/integrity - other than that...wonderful people :-)
uhmmm one if you have sex you should use protection so you wont get preg.
or if you are its your fault have the baby dont kill it its just a baby.
and im preg. and it was by ACCIDENT..im 3 months and my mom gave me the choice and im going to have it because I would be so sad to have the guilt of killing someone for the rest of my life..
I have read in our church where women who had abortions 35 and over 42 years ago are asking for forgiveness. They have had a change of heart. At the time it is convenient to say it's just a piece of nothing and I'll get rid of it. But it isn't. You will be scarred for the rest of your life emotionally. Believe me I have heard many women feel bad they did when they come to mature and think back. Doing what you want with your body is one thing but doing something horribly with another life (weather you choose to believe it is a being or not) is horribly wrong. When a girl doesn't want to have others find out and they don't want the "extra responsibility" there lies the problem. They want to believe nothing is wrong with abortion.
uhm are you kidding me ? why would you kill a baby becuase of your mistake . seriosuly its not the babys fault you wanted to go have sex when you knew you werent ready for a kid . if you dont have the baby and kill it then your going to remember this for the rest of your life . just think about what your doingg .
Against.
Just because someone screws up and gets pregnant, doesn't mean a child should have to be put to death and suffer. If you someone does something wrong, they should pay their own consequences. Even though the child isn't usually fully developed during abortion, they still matter, and deserve a life. If the mother knows the child cant be 100% taken care of when born, adoption is the way to go.
Abortion is wrong.
I probley wont come and follow-up on this, because if I see anyone trying to say that abortions are okay I'll probley like go crazy or something and write a message a mile long.

I think in many cases it's wrong to have an abortion, but there are a few when it is justified--rape, severe mental retardation (I mean to the point where the baby would be completely unable to speak, move, etc, and even then, I personally think I'd have the baby, but could understand if one wouldn't), to save the mother.
I don't think it's right to abort a baby because you make a mistake.
I also don't think that it's right to abort except in the earliest of the pregnancy.
Hmm... tricky...
For me, I'm pro choice- a woman has the right to choose what she does to her body. If she has her reasons for getting an abortion, I wouldn't be stopping her.
If I personally were in that situation, I'd have to think about a few things:
1. Can I support this child? Not just financially, but emotionally as well. I'd have to think if I were ready to put aside everything else in my life and focus on a child for the next 20 or so years. If I couldn't do that, I feel it would be wrong for me to bring a child into the world, not being able to give it the love and other essentials it needs.
2. How does the father feel about it? Maybe it's a bit old fashioned of me, but I would like my child to ideally have a mother and father who care about it, and want it. (I'm not saying same sex couples or single parents don't do a great job, just that this is how I would like things.) If my partner wasn't prepared to commit to being a father, then I don't think I'd want to do it all on my own.
3. What if the child is born with some severe birth defect? If the child were to be born and spend it's life in a vegetative state, I'd rather not put the child through that sort of life. If it were something smaller like having an extra limb, or even having conjoined twins, I would only really be worried if they would never have the choice to have surgery to correct it. (I would never want to make the decision for them- it's up to them what they want to do.)
In the situation I'm in now, if I did end up pregnant, I would probably want a termination- I still want time to travel, party, and have time for me. The last thing I would want is to resent my child because I didn't get the chance to do the things I wanted to do. Having said that though, I'm lucky enough to have the support of a wonderful partner, and enough financial stability to have a child if we did accidentally conceive. But, no plans for a family any time soon!

HAHAHA okay, lets start with the first sentence. will you ever be 100% sure that the protection you use will actually do as intended? What if the condom breaks? or etc..? does this mean you should never have sex, only when you want to have a baby? Well..just to let you know sex isnt only for that its meant for pleasure too. Its NOT a baby.(yet)

...how many kids are without parents because of adoption? TOO MANY. we cant keep giving them up. and again, sex isnt only for babies. people dont just have it for that you know
I think it's a difficult and highly personal choice that belongs only to the male and female involved. No one should have the authority to make a choice like that for another person under normal circumstances.
I consider myself pro-contraception and pro-education in the hopes that one day abortion will hardly ever be needed.
Doing some research on the subject, I was surprised to learn how being 'pro-choice' affects a Catholic and elections:
Fr. Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life
When a candidate for public office is wrong on abortion, he or she cannot be right on the other issues.
"Indeed, the failure to protect and defend life in its most vulnerable stages renders suspect any claims to the 'rightness' of positions in other matters affecting the poorest and least powerful of the human community" (US Bishops, 1998, Living the Gospel of Life, n.23).
"Above all, the common outcry, which is justly made on behalf of human rights -- for example, the right to health, to home, to work, to family, to culture -- is false and illusory if the right to life, the most basic and fundamental right and the condition of all other personal rights, is not defended with maximum determination" (Pope John Paul II, 1988, The Vocation and the Mission of the Lay Faithful in the Church and in the World (Christifideles Laici), n.38).
Those are clear and strong words.
Why do the bishops say that when a public servant cannot stand up for the right to life, his stand for other human rights is "suspect?"
When one says that people have a "right" to be safe, free, educated, and economically secure, on what basis do these rights exist? Are they human rights, that belong to the person simply because he or she is human, and are therefore beyond the authority of anyone to take away? Or are they "rights" granted by those in power?
These rights cannot possibly be human rights if life itself isn't a human right. And the public official who says abortion can be legal is saying that life itself is not a human right. This is because he or she is saying that some human beings (those in the womb) can be deprived of that right to life.
Bishop Elio Sgreccia, Vice-President of the Vatican's Pontifical Academy for Life, stated, "Without respect for life, society simply does not exist...all [other] rights presuppose the right to life. If the right to life is not defended, the defense of all these other rights is useless. It becomes a lie, because it would mean that the defense to the right to work, to society, etc. applies only to some, and not to all" (May 2004 interview with Priests for Life).
This is also why the Pope can call the outcry for human rights "false and illusory" without the right to life.
Cardinal Renato Martino, President of the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, "The Holy Father speaks of the protection of life as the fundamental realization and respect for human rights. Without that respect for the right to life, no other discussion of human rights can continue; it must be based upon the foundation of human dignity and the right to life" (May 2004 interview with Priests for Life).
In short, to allow legalized abortion is an attack on the entire moral order. If abortion is not wrong, nothing is wrong. If it is wrong, civilization will not survive unless it is set right.
I'm prochoice. It's your body, you should have the choice to do what you want with it. As for the whole it's immoral thing and you're killing a living human, you're not. You're not killing a fully functioning human. And according the God, you're not human until you have a soul, and you don't recieve a soul until you've made your first breath. So, obviously, according to God, by having an abortion, you're not killing a human. Also, God knows every single one of his children before they are born. So he knew that the child that was aborted wasn't going to live, and thus had no fate to have a life.
