who's better in politics, men or women?

I don't think there is an 'overall' better - gender doesn't matter - it's that individuals characteristics that matter.

Kathrine the Great was one of the greatest political leaders of all time. She ruled over one of the largest land masses of any of the czrars of Russia for over 50 years, and made Russia a formidable Partner on the European continent. Women should not be discounted, that is for sure.

On the average, I'm afraid I'd have to say men, only because women tend to become very empathetic and that leads to some bad decisions.

However, as stated above, there have been some fantastic female political leaders and we shouldn't really pit one gender against the other.

The vast majority of world leaders are male.
The vast majority of local, state and federal leaders are male.
The vast majority of business leaders are male.

What do you think of the job they have been doing?

I wouldn't use Catherine the Great as an example of a good female leader. She had a lot of lovers who she put in positions of power because, well, they were her lovers. She was also blind to the many scandals and corruption they were involved in, and completely out of touch with the needs of her people.

But a lot of studies and surveys have been done on this, and it's interesting to see the results. When it comes to working out compromises, being honest with the public, and handling policies on social issues, women seem to outperform men in some surveys. When it comes to being decisive, handling crime, and ensuring national security, the men perform better in survey results. Here's one such survey:
